Mary McKenna checks in with Jon Osburn, driver of OOIDA’s Spirit of the American Trucker, for the latest from life on the road – including trucker talk about an effort to fix two big problems with the Hours of Service. The bill, introduced by U.S. Rep. Brian Babin, is H.R. 5417, "The Responsible and Effective Standards for Truckers” or REST Act. It amends the Hours of Service regulations for truckers, allowing you the option of pausing the 14 hour clock for a period of up to 3 hours, and eliminating the 30 minute break rule.
